Mime is a job in the Service department.

The Mime is an enigmatic, silent performer who brings a distinct sophistication and artistry to his craft. The Mime's job is to entertain and amuse the crew with their silent antics. Unlike the loud, buffoonish antics of the Clown, a good Mime demonstrates poise, agility, and intention in all things. The Mime does not talk.

Ultimately, a Mime is free to decide how best to spend their time aboard the station. Elaborate works of art in a public hallway, musical performances, or simple wordless conversations with other crew members are common.

Vow of Silence

All Mimes have undertaken a sacred vow that forbids them from both vocal and written communication (including screaming), but also grants them mystic power. Mimes can place a one-tile invisible wall that lasts for 15 seconds (with a 30 second cooldown to placing a new wall). Like a regular, visible wall, this wall prevents physical objects from passing through it, making it a great tool for pantomime routines, pranking other crew members, or (in a pinch) escaping from a dangerous situation.

A Mime can choose to renounce their vow at will, regaining the ability to speak at the cost of their powers. After renouncing their vow, a Mime must wait at least 5 minutes before having the option to atone for their actions and retake the vow, restoring their powers.
