Departments are the categories under which most jobs are sorted. Each department has their respective command member or head. Not every role has a department; passengers and most animal ghost roles do not belong to any department.

Name Description Jobs
Command Command is made up of the heads of every department, tasked with overseeing the crew members' activities in their own departments.
Security Security is tasked with protecting the station's safety. They deal with threats ranging from petty vandals and rowdy drunkards to large organized groups that threaten the whole station.
Cargo Cargo is responsible for keeping the station's materials stocked and its mail delivered. They sell unneeded objects, fulfill bounties for cash rewards, and then use the money to buy crates full of various goods, like raw materials, weaponry, armor, artifacts, and more.
Engineering Engineering is tasked with maintaining the station's physical integrity. They must keep the electricity flowing, the air breathable, and the walls repaired.
Medical Medical is the department that treats the injured on the station. Their duties include treatment, reviving the dead, creating chemicals, and paramedic duties.
Science Science aims to provide the station with newer and better tools to fulfill its needs. Divided in three sections—robotics, anomalous research, and xenoarcheology—they research novel technologies, usually through dangerous means, to develop tools to help the crew with their functions.
Service Service is a multi-faceted department, consisting of various different jobs, many unrelated to each other. However, they all revolve around providing the station with some sort of service, be it food, drink, entertainment, or otherwise.
Silicon Silicons are cybernetic members of the station who must follow their laws. They form a department of their own, with even their own radio channel, but their role is to assist the crew members of other departments in whatever way is requested of them.
