Work in Progress
This page is unfinished. You may also be looking for the Cryptographic Sequencer, the hacking tool the Authentication Disruptor was split off from.
A hacked access configurator and a good friend of the emag. This device is able to force airlocks open as well as erase access requirement from station equipment. Recharges automatically.

The Authentication Disruptor, also referred to as the Access Breaker, is an item that can be bought from a Syndicate Uplink for 5 Telecrystals. It is also included in the Syndie Kit that can be chosen from a Thief's toolbox.

The Authentication Disruptor can store up to 3 charges, and regains one charge every 90 seconds. Using a charge does not reset this timer, and it will always start from 90 seconds if all 3 charges are full.

Uses

Access

Doors

An Authentication Disruptor can be used on any door, which will cause it to bolt itself open until an Station Engineer comes to fix it. If the Authentication Disruptor is used on a bolted or unpowered door, the door will not open, and a charge will not be consumed.

Lockers

Similarly to doors, an Authentication Disruptor can be used to unlock any locker on the station. You can close the locker back up, but you can't re-lock it without the corresponding access.

Cyborgs

An Authentication Disruptor can be used on a Cyborg in order unlock their laws panel, allowing anyone to unscrew it and access their internals. For more info about hacking Cyborgs, check out the page on Cyborgs.

Other

APCs, Air Alarms, Gas Canisters, and Crates can have their access requirements removed with an Authentication Disruptor. In the case of APCs, this causes their screen to change to a distinctive dark blue, with the lights on the side flashing red. As with all other access changes, these cannot be re-locked.

Using the Authentication Disruptor on a Bar Sign will allow anyone to change it's display, rather than just Bartenders.

Dispensers & Vendors

An Authentication Disruptor can be used to remove job access requirements from Dispensors and Vendors, allowing them to be used by anyone.

Machines

Most machines will have their access requirements removed by Authentication Disruptor. Specific examples include:

  • Using an Authentication Disruptor on a Communications Console will remove its access requirements, allowing anyone to make announcements, change the station's alert, or call the shuttle.
  • Similarly, Using an Authentication Disruptor on a News Manager Console will allow anyone to publish news articles.
  • Using an Authentication Disruptor on a Criminal Records Computer will allow anybody to change anyone's wanted level. (Be sure to remove or change your ID if you use this - if not, your name will be announced in security's radio channel!)
  • Using an Authentication Disruptor on a Cargo Request Console or R&D Console removes it's access requirements.
  • Using an Authentication Disruptor on a Holopad removes it's access requirements and allows anybody to use it to make an Emergency Broadcast.
  • Using an Authentication Disruptor on a AI Upload Console removes it's access requirements and allows anybody to insert new Law Boards for the AI.
