Medical kits or treatment kits, often shortened to medkits, are containers prefilled with topical medicinesTopical is a medical item that is applied externally to a patient to heal them, even if they are dead., pills, auto-injectors, filled syringes, and other items to treat specific damage types, as specified by their name. There are currently eight medical kits in Space Station 14:
- First aid kit
- Burn treatment kit
- Toxin treatment kit
- Oxygen deprivation treatment kit
- Brute trauma treatment kit
- Advanced first aid kit
- Radiation treatment kit
- Combat medical kit
All medical kits have a storage space of 2x4 and take up 2x4 slots when placed into a container, with the exception of the Combat Medical Kit, which takes up a 2x2 space while having the same internal storage as the rest. As most medkits take up the same space in a bag than they hold, it is recommended to remove the contents for easier access. All medkits can be created using the medical techfab for plastic [3], but these are created empty.
