They cannot wear shoes, walk slower than the other races, and have a relatively high resistance to brute-force damage. === Body ===
NOTE: Diona have plantlike organs, allowing chemicals such as weed killer and robust harvest to affect their bodies similar to plants.

Ex: Diona can consume robust harvest as a weaker form of omnizine.
Pros
{| class="wikitable"
* They take 30% less blunt damage.
|+ Organs
* They take 20% less slash damage.
* While suffocating, they take half the normal asphyxiation damage.
* They are heavier than other species and can pull objects faster but are themselves slower to pull.
* They are unaffected by the slowdown from kudzu.
* They can process up to 6 reagents, compared to the normal 2.
* They can breathe carbon dioxide.

Cons
* They take 50% more heat damage.
* They take 20% more shock damage.
* They are unable to wear any shoes to protect their feet from debris and shards, and are unable to gain any benefit from them (like from magboots or speedboots). Wearing a hardsuit can protect their feet.
* If they take enough heat damage, they will ignite and catch on fire. The severity of the fire depends on the amount of heat damage being dealt; a laser rifle will not burn as much compared to a vintage laser pistol or X-ray rifle.

Special
* They can gib themselves into Nymphs after death. Doing this will heal them from all injuries and can even revive them from potentially unrevivable situations (ex. radiation damage), but it takes 10 minutes until they can reform back into a full Diona. This also leaves them vulnerable to other dangers in the meanwhile, such as spacing. The new Diona body will be different from their old one, including a different name, traits (such as gender), and even entirely new DNA and fingerprints. However, they will keep their knowledge, as per specific server death rules.
** There are normally 3 pet-like Nymphs. The player takes control of the main Nymph (the only one able to talk), while the other two can be taken over and eventually reformed by ghosts if given cognizine. A zombified Diona is able to split once dead (or after giving up and returning to body) and the resulting Nymphs will be zombified, though unable to reform.

* They are affected by chemicals that affect plants (excluding unstable mutagen), this means that they can heal and benefit from fertilizers (ex. robust harvest can heal all brute and poison damage). However, plant toxins and pesticides will damage them.
* Extreme overdose of robust harvest (80u or more) will polymorph the Diona into a stationary tree, which can be reverted back into the Diona by chopping it down. Robust harvest will also deal significant heat damage upon 30u overdoses.
* They can root themselves in the ground to gain magboot-like effects (no slipping and a minor speed decrease) but this will cause them to absorb any chemicals on the ground, including potentially toxic compounds.

Arachnids
Arachnids
The newest species contracted for employment on Space Station 14, particularly for their pressure-resistant exoskeletons and dexterity. Possibly related to the space spiders and giant tarantulas found in outer space thanks to their similarly robust digestive systems, able to consume raw food without the risk of disease. They're also vulnerable to blunt and piercing damage, and don't take well to extreme temperatures.

Not to be confused with insectoids, Arachnids cut a striking figure with their pressure-resistant exoskeletons and extra arms. Possibly related to the space spiders and giant tarantulas found in outer space. Thanks to their similarly robust digestive systems, they are able to consume raw food without the risk of disease.

they have two extra pocket slots, but cannot carry anything in their outer storage slot. They also hate wearing glasses.

*Airloss - >1
*Pressure - <1

Body
Naming conventions: Latin (ex. Pluribus Unum), Common
NOTE: Arachnids have a slower metabolic rate than other organisms, meaning they heal from medicine and take damage from ingested toxins slower. This has no effect on externally applied reagents.

{| class="wikitable"
Pros
|+ Organs
* At the expense of hunger, they can weave silk, which can be used craft various objects, like furniture, cloth, clothes, walls, and even shields. This can help them handle some critical situations, like crafting a winter coat when temperature drops or sealing a spaced area. Only Arachnids are able to utilize the silk for crafting.
* They can eat raw meat and drink blood without ill effects.
* They deal piercing instead of blunt damage on unarmed attacks.
* They have an additional 2 free pocket slots, visible to everyone upon inspection.
* They have an immunity to mechanotoxin, a venom produced by most spiders (excluding Shiva).

Cons
* While suffocating, takes 50% more asphyxiation damage and recovers at half speed.
* They have blue blood, requiring copper instead of iron to regenerate it. Iron will poison them instead.
* Ingesting theobromine- and allicin-containing products (ex. chocolate, tea, coffee, onion, garlic) will poison them.

Special
* They have a 50% slower reagent metabolism rate than other species (30s delay). This makes it take extra time for medicines to work and for them to satiate their thirst and hunger, but also delays the effects of poisons. This has no effect on externally applied reagents, so spilling acid on an Arachnid will kill them just the same as anyone else.

Moths, meanwhile, actually are an insectoid species. Their wings allow them greater control in zero gravity than other species, and their natural resistance to cold helps greatly in a space environment. The trade-off, naturally, is that heat is more dangerous.

Naming convention: Common, with a preference for light-related names (ex. Lucas Lightseeker)

* They will start freezing and getting slowed down from cold at 20 °C lower than other species.
* They have increased acceleration when in 0-G environments.

Cons
* Their diet is restricted to cloth, including clothing, gloves, and other wearable items. Chefs can prepare moth-specific foods for them.
* They will start taking heat damage much earlier at 5 °C lower than other species, intense heat will quickly burn them.
* They take an additional 30% more heat damage from all sources.

Vox are raptor-like creatures that can only breathe nitrogen, as oxygen is very hazardous to their health, to the point where they take ticking poison damage as long as they're exposed to the air with even trace of oxygen within it. To counteract this, a Vox must either be in a pure nitrogen environment or, more commonly, breathing from a nitrogen tank, one of which is provided to them at the start of each round.

Looks like the article engineers are still writing this page. This page is a stub, meaning it is incomplete and/or lacking information.

There are currently eight playable species in Space Station 14—Humans, Reptilians, Slimes, Diona, Dwarves, Arachnids, Moths, and Vox. Each has their own distinct stats, strengths, and weaknesses, but all have a few things in common:

  • All species are capable of equipping the same tools and items.
  • All species are capable of metabolizing reagents and experiencing their effects.
  • All species speak the same language.
  • All species are to be treated equally by the crew and AI onboard.

Humans

Baseline, unmodified human beings, functionally similar to the human beings of our world, aside for a comparatively incredible resistance to the vacuum of space (a trait shared more or less with all SS14 species). They do not have any special abilities, traits, strengths, or weaknesses when compared to other species.

Naming convention: Common (ex. John Smith)

Organs of Humans
Image Organ Purpose

Heart Determines the efficiency of blood pumping. A healthy heart means a healthier body.

Brain The center of self, the most important part of any individual. Determines who inhabits and controls the body.

Lungs Determine the rate of breathing. Unhealthy lungs may result in the body getting less O2/N2 than it needs.

Stomach Aids in the digestion of foods, liquids, and reagents in the body.

Kidneys Filter the vital fluids of any toxins they might contain.

Liver Contains enzymes that aid in certain biological processes.

Eyes Allow for visual information to be extracted from an organism's environment via light.

Reptilians

Reptile-like humanoids with sharp claws, tough scales, and an appetite for raw meat. Their unarmed melee attacks do slash instead of blunt damage. Onions, coffee and tea are poisonous to them and they are unable to consume grain, dairy, or any overly processed products.

Naming conventions: Verbal (ex. Eats-The-Mouse), Common

Pros

  • They can eat raw meat and drink blood without ill effects.
  • They do slash instead of blunt damage on unarmed attacks.
  • They can have both hands free while pulling anything, thanks to their tail.
  • They have about 75 °C higher heat threshold than other species before starting to take damage.

Cons

  • Their diet is highly restricted to only meat and fruits.
  • They will begin freezing and getting slowed down from cold temperatures at 20 °C higher than other species.
  • They take 30% more cold damage.
  • Ingesting theobromine- and allicin-containing products (ex. chocolate, tea, coffee, onion, garlic) will poison them.

Able to digest raw meat without issue. Poisoned by theobromine and allicin.

Kidneys Filter the vital fluids of any toxins they might contain.

Liver Contains enzymes that aid in certain biological processes.

Eyes Allow for visual information to be extracted from an organism's environment via light.

Slimes

Gelatinous humanoid masses of goo, who breathe nitrogen instead of oxygen and exhale nitrous oxide. They are naturally vulnerable to both high- and low-pressure barotrauma but their elastic form makes them resistant to blunt damage.

Naming conventions: Onomatopoeic (Foolp, Blorp), Common

Pros

  • They have double the natural regeneration rate (8.4/min compared to the average of 4.2/min) and start regenerating from below 65 damage (other species need below 20).
  • They take 40% less blunt damage.
  • They breathe at a much slower rate.
  • While suffocating, they take 80% less asphyxiation damage.
  • They can process up to 6 reagents, compared to the normal 2.

Cons

  • They take 20% more slash and piercing damage.
  • They take 50% more cold damage.
  • They take minor heat damage from water splashed or sprayed onto them. Notably, Slime people still need to drink water.

Special

  • They breathe nitrogen instead of oxygen, making less tanks available to them.
  • They have a 2x3 inventory space in their body, which anyone can access and steal from.

Diona

Tree-like plant people whose bodies react with fertilizer and weed-killing chemicals similar to regular plants. They cannot wear shoes and have a relatively high resistance to brute damage. They also have sap instead of blood, and require significantly more water to stay hydrated.

Naming conventions: Qualic (ex. A Peaceful Sunrise), Common

Pros

  • They take 30% less blunt damage.
  • They take 20% less slash damage.
  • While suffocating, they take half the normal asphyxiation damage.
  • They are heavier than other species and can pull objects faster but are themselves slower to pull.
  • They are unaffected by the slowdown from kudzu.
  • They can process up to 6 reagents, compared to the normal 2.
  • They can breathe carbon dioxide.

Cons

  • They take 50% more heat damage.
  • They take 20% more shock damage.
  • They are unable to wear any shoes to protect their feet from debris and shards, and are unable to gain any benefit from them (like from magboots or speedboots). Wearing a hardsuit can protect their feet.
  • If they take enough heat damage, they will ignite and catch on fire. The severity of the fire depends on the amount of heat damage being dealt; a laser rifle will not burn as much compared to a vintage laser pistol or X-ray rifle.

Special

  • They can gib themselves into Nymphs after death.
    • There are normally 3 pet-like Nymphs. The player takes control of the main Nymph (the only one able to talk), while the other two can be taken over and eventually reformed by ghosts if given cognizine. A zombified Diona is able to split once dead (or after giving up and returning to body) and the resulting Nymphs will be zombified, though unable to reform.
  • They are affected by chemicals that affect plants (excluding unstable mutagen), this means that they can heal and benefit from fertilizers (ex. robust harvest can heal all brute and poison damage). However, plant toxins and pesticides will damage them.
  • Extreme overdose of robust harvest (80u or more) will polymorph the Diona into a stationary tree, which can be reverted back into the Diona by chopping it down. Robust harvest will also deal significant heat damage upon 30u overdoses.
  • They can root themselves in the ground to gain magboot-like effects (no slipping and a minor speed decrease) but this will cause them to absorb any chemicals on the ground, including potentially toxic compounds.

Image Organ Purpose

Heart Determines the efficiency of blood pumping. A healthy heart means a healthier body.

Diona Brain The center of self, the most important part of any individual. Determines who inhabits and controls the body. Functionally identical to the other humanoid brains.

Lungs Determine the rate of breathing. Unhealthy lungs may result in the body getting less O2/N2 than it needs.

Diona Stomach Aids in the digestion of foods, liquids, and reagents in the body. Due to its plantlike nature, it can digest fertilizers and weedkillers similar to the ways a plant would. Still capable of metabolizing medicine meant for animals.

Kidneys Filter the vital fluids of any toxins they might contain.

Liver Contains enzymes that aid in certain biological processes.

Diona Eyes Allow for visual information to be extracted from an organism's environment via light. Functionally identical to other humanoid eyeballs.

Dwarves

A stout and stalwart species quite similar to humans, save for their diminutive stature, as well as a propensity for alcohol and strong Scottish accents. Somehow, alcohol is able to heal their injuries. Their small size makes them easier for most species to shove them over.

Naming convention: Common, with a preference for Celtic names (ex. Brian O'Finnegan)

Pros

  • They take 80% less poison damage from overdosing on ethanol and they cannot vomit from it.
  • When overdosing on ethanol, they will heal a small amount of brute damage.
  • They have a 50% larger stomach size capacity for reagents (75u, compared to the standard 50u maximum).

Cons

  • They are more lightweight, making them both easier to drag, and slower to drag others and objects.

Somehow capable of metabolizing alcohol as a healing agent(?)

Kidneys Filter the vital fluids of any toxins they might contain.

Liver Contains enzymes that aid in certain biological processes.

Eyes Allow for visual information to be extracted from an organism's environment via light.

Arachnids

Not to be confused with insectoids, Arachnids cut a striking figure with their pressure-resistant exoskeletons and extra arms. Possibly related to the space spiders and giant tarantulas found in outer space. Thanks to their similarly robust digestive systems, they are able to consume raw food without the risk of disease.

They have two extra pocket slots formed by webs.

Naming conventions: Latin (ex. Pluribus Unum), Common

Pros

  • At the expense of hunger, they can weave silk, which can be used craft various objects, like furniture, cloth, clothes, walls, and even shields. This can help them handle some critical situations, like crafting a winter coat when temperature drops or sealing a spaced area. Only Arachnids are able to utilize the silk for crafting.
  • They can eat raw meat and drink blood without ill effects.
  • They deal piercing instead of blunt damage on unarmed attacks.
  • They have an additional 2 free pocket slots, visible to everyone upon inspection.
  • They have an immunity to mechanotoxin, a venom produced by most spiders (excluding Shiva).

Cons

  • While suffocating, takes 50% more asphyxiation damage and recovers at half speed.
  • They have blue blood, requiring copper instead of iron to regenerate it. Iron will poison them instead.
  • Ingesting theobromine- and allicin-containing products (ex. chocolate, tea, coffee, onion, garlic) will poison them.

Special

  • They have a 50% slower reagent metabolism rate than other species (30s delay). This makes it take extra time for medicines to work and for them to satiate their thirst and hunger, but also delays the effects of poisons. This has no effect on externally applied reagents, so spilling acid on an Arachnid will kill them just the same as anyone else.
Organs of Arachnids
Image Organ Purpose

Heart Determines the efficiency of blood pumping. A healthy heart means a healthier body. Pumps copper instead of iron, looks funny (does not use standard heart sprite).

Now with four times the efficiency.

Moths

Moths, meanwhile, actually are an insectoid species. Their wings allow them greater control in zero gravity than other species, and their natural resistance to cold helps greatly in a space environment. The trade-off, naturally, is that heat is more dangerous.

Naming convention: Common, with a preference for light-related names (ex. Lucas Lightseeker)

Pros

  • They take 30% less cold damage.
  • They will start freezing and getting slowed down from cold at 20 °C lower than other species.
  • They have increased acceleration when in 0-G environments.

Cons

  • Their diet is restricted to cloth, including clothing, gloves, and other wearable items. Chefs can prepare moth-specific foods for them.
  • They will start taking heat damage much earlier at 5 °C lower than other species, intense heat will quickly burn them.
  • They take an additional 30% more heat damage from all sources.
  • They take 3 times more heat/burn damage when on fire compared to other species, making fire extremely deadly to them.
