From Space Station 14 Wiki

Is Docking and Visitors needed?

I say yes!

I think that having a system for visitors is a good idea.

To my knowledge SS14 is really the first to even need it, I don't remember any sort of scenario in SS13 where it was required. So we are sort of in an area where it stills need to be tested. But as I see it it was unused before because of the lack of visitors and now that they are a common part of a shift there is a need for a space law entry.

This would help reduce bad behavior towards syndicate refugees, as well as clearing any misconceptions as to who counts as a foreign invader.

Skeletons in the eye of the law

I understand that many see skeletons as only having rights to space law if they are accepted as part of the crew.

I.E: Given an ID card and Job aboard the station.

I disagree with this assessment and think that skeletons should always fall under space law.

Skeletons as they exist are visitors/passengers. They emerge on the ship and have always been on the ship. They are neutral entities and as thus can can engage in antagonistic/non-antagonistic behavior. And will be punished by space law

The only justification I have seen that refutes this statement is that Admins disagree with this assessment. As seen here https://discord.com/channels/310555209753690112/1125299494066597888/1248723095968026647

In my interpretation of my own space law skeletons are protected as passengers/visitors.
