Command Operating Procedure

For Commanding Officers eyes only

Welcome to your shift Commanding Officer, if you are reading this you are the best of our best. This procedure given to you should be memorized and thought of frequently to upkeep a productive shift.

As a Commanding Officer your job is to maintain a healthy station, and to ensure your department is operating at peak performance. Nanotrasen estimates at least 34% of productivity is lost with a poor Commanding Officer. Therefore it is imperative you follow these guidelines and make Nanotrasen proud.

Chain of Command

Aboard Nanotrasen stations a chain of command is expected in order to reduce confusion during tumultuous, or unexpected events. This Chain of Command is to be followed by all Commanding Officers or they fall risk of being charged "Failure to Comply" and face the sentencing brought forward by the Warden of the station.

1. Central Command
2. Captain
3. All other Commanding Officers

The Chain of Command can be broken, and during your shift it may. In this case remaining Commanding Officers are to follow the "Line of Succession"

In other cases a Commanding Officer may be deemed incompetent for one of many reasons, if this happens a vote is to take place. A unanimous YES is required to demote a Commanding Officer unless their demotion stems from a violation of space law, in which case only a majority vote is needed.

Line of succession

If the captain dies and is unrecoverable for whatever reason, then a new captain must be selected. this follows a fairly simple ruling which has a step by step guide:

• Step 1: Is captain still alive? if so proceed to step 5, if not proceed to the next step.
• Step 2: Is hop still alive? if so proceed to step 5, if not proceed to the next step.
• Step 3: All heads may vote on a head to make captain, then should proceed to step 5, If all heads are dead proceed to the next step.
• Step 4: Call the shuttle and set the alert level to code red.
• Step 5: That person is now Captain.
