Engineering & Atmospherics Operating Procedure

Don't hammer in a screw

We at Nanotrasen respect the ingenuity and intelligence it requires to be an Engineer or member of Atmospherics, that is why we provide a simple and easy to follow procedure for our engineering members.

We expect a functioning station with power so that our other departments can operate at peak performance.

Modifications to the Station

All non-structural forms of modification, optimization, or upgrades to station equipment are permitted so long as the modifying engineer is qualified and has obtained written permission from the head of the department in question. Large-scale structural modifications or additions require written and stamped consent from either the Chief Engineer, the Captain, or (in the absence of both) a member of Command staff.

Evacuating Crew

In extreme circumstances such as meteor collisions or gas leaks an area may be considered unsafe for crew. In these circumstances Nanotrasen has provided a procedure to prevent crew from harm.

This procedure is to be followed in order of steps:

  1. Close the area off from the rest of the station.
  2. Call in for backup depending on severity of danger.
  3. In cases of extreme heat or toxic gasses the area should be opened to space to vaccum out danger.
  4. Search for injured crew.
  5. If crew is found, bring outside of area and alert medical.
  6. Proceed to ensure the area's air is up to safe standards
  7. Re-open area once safety is assured
